SUMMARY:JOEY CALDERAZZO TRIO
DESCRIPTION:One of the most distinguished pianists of his generation\, Joey Calderazzo has released 13 albums as a bandleader and has risen from child prodigy to elite jazz musician. A member of Branford Marsalis’ band and leader of his own trio\, Calderazzo has collaborated with legends such as Michael Brecker\, Jack DeJohnette and Dave Holland\, exploring jazz through composition\, improvisation and performance. \nHis trio\, featuring bassist Orlando Le Fleming and drummer Donald Edwards\, exemplifies his commitment to improvisation and swing\, captured perfectly on Live From The Cotton Club Tokyo\, Volume I . Albums such as Haiku and Amanecer  showcase his solo piano explorations\, fusing tradition with his personal voice. \nLine-up:\nJoey Calderazzo – piano\nOrlando Le Fleming – bass\nDavid Hawksing – drums \nAdmission: Unknown

SUMMARY:MADELEINE PEYROUX
DESCRIPTION:Madeleine Peyroux’s ninth album\, Let’s Walk\, is a bold\, heartfelt exploration of personal and social themes\, blending jazz\, folk\, and chamber pop. In ten deeply personal tracks co-written with longtime collaborator Jon Herington\, Peyroux navigates confessional\, political\, and whimsical tones\, driven by her signature soulful voice. Inspired by civil rights marches and informed by events like the George Floyd trial\, songs such as “Find True Love” and “Let’s Walk” capture hope and resilience. With production by Elliott Scheiner\, the album moves through reflections on privilege\, justice\, and healing\, from the playful “Me and the Mosquito” to the spoken-word closer\, “Take Care.” Following pandemic-driven delays\, Peyroux now brings Let’s Walk to live audiences\, merging new work with her beloved renditions of timeless classics. \nLouisiana born-and-raised singer-songwriter and guitarist Joy Clark is charting her own path with her debut album Tell it to the Wind. As the youngest of five children born into a tight knit\, deeply religious family just outside of New Orleans\, her release is both a declaration of her independence and a love letter to the traditions that shaped her. The album marks Clark’s arrival on the national stage as a proud\, queer\, Black woman blending the social consciousness of folk\, the rhythms of Southeast Louisiana\, and the soul-centered music she grew up with. \nTickets: $65.00 ~ $82.00

SUMMARY:VANESSA RUBIN & HER TRIO
DESCRIPTION:Revered as both a torchbearer and a storyteller\, jazz vocalist Vanessa Rubin possesses a voice hailed for crystalline clarity\, hearth-like warmth\, and playful lioness sass. The Cleveland native brings a wealth of diverse influences to her vocal performance from both the Trinidadian/Caribbean roots of her mother and traditional jazz by way of her Louisiana-born father. Additional homespun influences include the melodic bell tone clarity of a young Capital Records recording artist\, Nancy Wilson\, the fire of Lambert\, Hendricks & Ross\, the sweet sounds of trumpeter Blue Mitchell as well as her love of the Motown Sound…especially girl groups like The Supremes. \nVanessa’s journey to becoming a jazz singer could be said to have begun at an early age. She was characterized by her mother as always being “a very vocal child\,” and knew Vanessa would “do something with that big ol’ mouth of hers.” Coming from parents who valued academia\, discipline\, and hard work\, that “something” was meant to be law school. Attaining a BA from The Ohio State School of Journalism in 1979 was not a disappointment. However\, her decision to pursue a career jazz singing did come as a surprise. \nThe Band: Allyn Johnson ~ piano\, Michael Bowie ~ bass\, Lennie Robinson ~ drums \nTickets: Thursday ~ $35.00 +$7.00 fees | Friday ~ $50.00 +$7.00 fees \n$15.00 minimum food & beverage per person
