DESCRIPTION:One of the world’s preeminent jazz innovators\, trombonist and seashellist Steve Turre swings into Keystone Korner Baltimore this August 5-7\, 2022! \nTrombone & shells – Steve Turre\nTrumpet – Wallace Roney Jr.\nTenor & Soprano Sax – Vincent Herring\nPiano – Davis Whitfield\nBass – Corcoran Holt\nDrums – Orion Turre \nSteve Turre has consistently won both the Readers’ and Critics’ polls in JazzTimes\, Downbeat\, and Jazziz for Best Trombone and for Best Miscellaneous Instrumentalist (shells). In addition to performing as a member of the Saturday Night Live Band since 1984\, Turre leads several different ensembles. Turre’s quartet and quintet provide a setting based in tradition and stretching the limits conceptually and stylistically. In the Summer of 2000\, Telarc released In The Spur of the Moment. This recording features Steve with three different quartets\, each with a different and distinct master pianist: Ray Charles\, Chucho Valdes\, and Stephen Scott. \nSteve Turre continually evolves as a musician and arranger. SUMMARY:JEN WROBLESKI QUARTET
DESCRIPTION:Having finished her education\, Jen Wrobleski honed her vocal talents beginning her singing career with the Walt Disney Company in Orlando\, FL portraying Cinderella in Cinderella’s Surprise Celebration and performed the role of Belle in Beauty & The Beast before departing for different pastures. \nIn early 2005 she formed a jazz quartet and performed throughout Florida and Georgia not limited to Churchill Grounds\, Sambuca\, House of Blues and Nikki’s Beach. Moving to New York City she performed regularly with Harold Mabern Jr.\, Joe Farnsworth\, Eric Alexander\, John Webber\, Sharp Radway\, and Anthony Wonsey. She has gone on to perform in Greece\, Austria\, Russia and Italy. She returns to the Velvet Note for another encore performance. \nShows ~ 7:00 & 9:00 pm \n
