DESCRIPTION:Lakecia Benjamin is a five-time Grammy-nominated saxophonist\, arranger\, and composer from New York. She has a warm\, resonant tone and her music consists of a unique blend of R&B\, jazz\, and funk. \nRaised in Manhattan’s predominantly Dominican Washington Heights neighborhood. She played recorder in grade school and junior high where she also began writing songs and lyrics. She won admission to the Fiorello LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts. It was there she began playing saxophone in earnest. She picked it up quickly and after graduating joined the renowned jazz program at New York’s New School University. \nShe studied with jazz veterans including Billy Harper\, Workman\, Buster Williams\, and Gary Bartzand has performed with Rashied Ali\, the David Murray Big Band\, vocalist Vanessa Rubin\, and guitarist James Blood Ulmer. \nTickets: First Show ~ CHF 54 ($61.22) | Second Show: CHF 44 ($49.88)

SUMMARY:ARI HOENIG TRIO
DESCRIPTION:Exposed at an early age to a variety of musical experiences. His father is a conductor and classical singer\, his mother a violinist and pianist. Accordingly\, at 4 years of age\, Ari began studying the violin and piano. At age 12 he started in on the drums and by age fourteen he was honing his skills with other young jazz musicians at Philly clubs such as Ortlieb’s JazzHaus. \nHoenig has taught and is on the faculty at New York University and The New School in New York. He gives clinics and lectures at music schools and universities worldwide. \nAri Hoenig with his trio featuring Tivon Pennicott on sax and Gadi Lehavi on Piano and Tivon Pennicott on sax.
