The act\, consisting of vocals and three instrumentalists\, has performed in many festivals\, jazz clubs and churches to a sold-out crowds pays homage to “The High Priestess of Soul”\, singer\, song writer and activist\, Nina Simone. \nSimone was one of the most extraordinary artists of the twentieth century; an icon of American music. She was the consummate musical storyteller\, a griot as she would come to learn\, who used her remarkable talent to create a legacy of liberation\, empowerment\, passion\, and love through a magnificent body of works. She earned the moniker “High Priestess of Soul” for she could weave a spell so seductive and hypnotic that the listener lost track of time and space as they became absorbed in the moment. \nAll Shows ~ SOLD OUT!

DESCRIPTION:Guitarist Alvin Brendan has been crafting a strong identity for himself as a jazz musician and session musician in Vancouver over the last few years. Despite his youth\, Brendan has been fortunate enough to find himself in a variety of different recording sessions and live performances that has allowed him to hone his craft in a multitude of styles and genres. He is excited to merge many of his musical loves in this new format. Brendan has recruited long-time collaborators Benjamin Millman (keys) and Trent Otter (drums) to showcase their collective love of the improvisational aspect of jazz music\, and the modern aesthetic of contemporary R&B and neo-soul. \n\nNO RESERVATION REQUIRED – Walk-in only.
