Born in Quebec, Canada on June 5, 1980 pianist Chantale Gagné began studying music at the age of 8 and at fifteen she fulfilled her passion witht he piano. From 1997 to 1999 she studied jazz piano with James Gelfand at College Marie-Victorin in Montreal, Canada. Following this with four years at McGill University, she graduated with a degree in Jazz Piano Performance.
In 2005, Chantale met pianist Kenny Barron, studied with him and was inspired both as a pianist and composer of jazz. She has since been busy performing throughout Canada, United States. and Europe in trio, quartet, piano solo and big band configurations.
Silent Strength, is her self-produced debut trio album with bassist Peter Washington and drummer Lewis Nash featuring many of her original compositions. Garnering wonderful reviews it has received global radio play.
Gagné’s sophomore album, Wisdom Of The Water, released in 2010 adds a folk/heartland influence along with vibraphonist Joe Locke along with Washington and Nash. Her third album, The Left Side Of The Moon, has saxophonist Steve Wilson joining the resident rhythm team.
Pianist and composer Chantale Gagné, who has received the distinction Révélation Radio-Canada Musique 2008-09, continues to perform, record and tour.

Hilaria Kramer was born on June 1, 1967 in Frauenfeld, Switzerland and began playing the trumpet when she was ten years old. Beginning in 1983 she attended the vocational school department of Jazz School St. Gallen, where she studied under Benny Bailey and Art Lande.
After graduating she went on to work in Italy with the Claudio Fasoli Quintet, with Gianluigi Trovesi. She performed with Steve Lacy, Enrico Rava, Joe Henderson, Bob Mover, Sal Nistico, Chet Baker and Sangoma Everett. 1988 saw her recording her debut album leading her own quartet. The album was released in the spring of the following year on Unit Records.
1991 had Hilaria performing on the TV program Ladies in Jazz with singers Nina Simone and Carmen McRae. Over the next few years, she performed with Uli Scherer in Vienna and also toured around Europe.
In 2014, Kramer was awarded the Jazz Prize of the Fondation Suisa for her services as a musician, composer and band leader as well as her work in various organizations that support Swiss jazz.
Trumpeter and composer Hilaria Kramer, who has a discography of eighteen albums as a leader and sidewoman, continues to record, perform and tour.

Eddie Parker May 28, 1959 in Liverpool, England. A founding member of and composer for the British jazz band Loose Tubes in the 1980s. He has toured and performed with several noted bands and performers including Bheki Mseleku, Marvin Smith and John Parricelli. He has toured with the band Mister Vertigo, of which Parricelli is also a member, and conducts jazz workshops and performances involving young musicians. He was a lecturer in jazz at Middlesex University, where his students included Led Bib.
As a leader he has recorded three albums, a half doen with Loose Tubes and as a sideman he has recorded eight with Django Bates, A Man Called Adam, Keziah Jones, Oumou Sangare, Trevor Walters, and Mseleku.
Flutist and composer Eddie Parker continues to play keyboards during workshops and live performances.

Rich Lamb was born on May 27, 1954 in New York City where he learned his bass craft. By the turn of the 1980’s he co-founded the jazz fusion band, Dry Jack, and gained worldwide recognition with his brother pianist Chuck Lamb, guitarist Rod Fleeman and drummer Jon Margolis. The group was listed as part of the new wave of fusion in Rolling Stone Magazine’s History of Rock `n’ Roll.
With Dry Jack he performed with vocalist Eddie Jefferson and avant garde saxophonist Richie Cole. They opened shows for Pat Metheny, The Dixie Dreggs, Gino Vinelli, Freddie Hubbard and McCoy Tyner among many others. He played with trumpeter Dave Douglas inthe mid eighties.
Moving from New York to Colorado in 1989, Rich has been performing with Brazilian drummer Claudio Sloan and Hammond B3 Pat Bianchi. In 1992 he played in concert with saxophonist Ernie Watts and Ed Summerlin recorded at the Deer Mountain Jazz Festival in South Dakota, as well as performing there with saxophonist Hank Crawford.
He performs with Hazel Miller, has subbed several times on the nationally syndicated radio program E Town. As a composer and first time as a leader, Lamb released his debut album, Music Along The Way. This is an improvisational collection of his music written during his performing career.
Bassist Rich Lamb currently freelances and plays his upright bass with pianists Pat Bianchi, Geoff Cleveland, Eric Moon, Dana Marsh and Bill Unrau.

On the way east to Music City USA to check out an authentic jazz experience standing out as a beacon in the city that boasts country music. Rudy’s Jazz Room embodies the history and spirit of traditional jazz clubs, where musicians played their hearts out while people gathered to listen, dance, eat, drink and socialize in a swingin’ atmosphere. The venue raises Nashville to the level of other great jazz cities like New York, New Orleans, Chicago, Kansas City and many more.
Hitting the stage this evening is saxophonist Don Aliquo who Presents Bebop Live and explores the various elements, depths and history of bebop jazz. In the early 1940’s when the younger generation of jazz musicians expanded the creative possibilities of jazz and bebop music first hit the jazz scene it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
