Kelly Green (piano/voice), Evan Hyde (drums) & Luca Soul (bass) have played as a trio extensively all over NYC and the tri-state-area. They perform uniquely stylized arrangements of songs from the Great American Songbook and the Jazz canon as well as Miss Green’s original compositions.

DANIEL GLASS TRIO

The Daniel Glass Trio, based in New York City, is led by award-winning drummer, author, and educator Daniel Glass. The group, which has been performing together since 2016, also includes guitarist Sean Harkness and bassist Michael O’Brien.

Each member of the trio has an impressive background, having recorded and performed with top-tier artists such from Bette Midler, Liza Minnelli, Brian Setzer, Harry Connick Jr., and Freddy Cole to Ruben Blades, actress Kathleen Turner, and KISS frontman Gene Simmons. This diverse experience contributes to the trio’s eclectic sound. Their latest recording, titled “BAM!” showcases this versatility by offering both original tunes and eclectic reinventions, from the timeless standard “It Could Happen To You” to Deep Purple’s rock classic “Smoke on the Water”.

Daily Dose Of Jazz…

Martin Vallely was born in Belfast, Ireland on July 1, 1962. His musical history spans a career working with Cork bands Soon and No Sangoma to working with acclaimed indie oufit Dear Wolf in Germany with whom he recorded.

As a bandleader he put together a quartet that recorded and released three albums beginning in 2008 with Debut, his maiden voyage receiving critical acclaim as a jazz composer. The following year Waltzin and in 2010 he released Gloves Off.

As a singer/songwriter, Martin also released two cds of his own songs as the band Glen River, first 12 in 2009 and After The Fall in 2010 which showcases his songwriting abilities. He is a half of an excellent duo called The Apologists.

Bassist, composer, songwriter, producer and educator Martin Vallely presently resides in Cork, Ireland where he continues to perform and teach.

Daily Dose Of Jazz…

Ike Sturm was born June 29, 1978 and was raised in a musical home in Wisconsin, learning from his father, renowned composer and arranger, Fred Sturm. He studied jazz and classical bass and composition while earning undergraduate and graduate degrees at the Eastman School of Music. In addition, he studied privately with legendary bassist Dave Holland.

Sturm went on to serve as Music Director for the Jazz Ministry from 2004-2021, commissioned him to compose Jazz Mass, a work for voices, strings and soloists that merges diverse musical languages into a powerfully unified aesthetic. The piece was released to critical international acclaim, named Best Albums of the Year by Downbeat and has been performed across the U.S., Scandinavia and Europe.

He has performed with Gene Bertoncini, Theo Bleckmann, Ingrid Jensen, Donny McCaslin, Bobby McFerrin, Ben Monder, Maria Schneider and Kenny Wheeler. He has played on four Downbeat award-winning recordings, several Steve Reich releases on Canteloupe and Nonesuch Records and performed with Alarm Will Sound and the International Contemporary Ensemble, along with numerous creative ensembles in New York.

Bassist Ike Sturm currently leads a new worshiping community in New York City called Finding Our Way Home. He was commissioned by Montview Presbyterian Church in Denver, Colorado to write a new large-scale piece called River for 100 voices, string orchestra and the Ike Sturm Ensemble.

MIMI JONES & FRIENDS

For more than two decades she’s been on the scene, bassist/vocalist/producer/label owner and now filmmaker Mimi Jones has reigned supreme, as a side woman to an impressive coterie of musicians and as a leader with three original recording projects on her own Hot Tone Music label.

Born Miriam Sullivan in New York City on March 25, 1972, and was raised in the Bronx. Jones studied Music at the Manhattan School of Music Conservatory, and has also studied with Linda McKnight, Lisle Atkinson, Barry Harris, Milt Hinton, Dr. Billy Taylor, Yusef Lateef. She has toured extensively for over 30 years throughout the seven continents, and has played with such people as Frank Ocean, Kenny Barron, DD Bridgewater, Dianne Reeves, Tia Fuller, Roy Hargrove, Terri Lyne Carrington, Beyonce, Jason Moran, Common, Black Thought and more.

Mimi Jones co-directs a multimedia interdisciplinary production with pianist ArcoIris Sandoval entitled The D.O.M.E. Experience, creating choreography, musical and visual works inspired by social injustices and environmental changes in our world. Voted #1 & #2 rising star by the DownBeat polls for 3 consecutive years, she currently works on a new project called The Black Madonna. The Berklee School of Music professor recently began collaborating with a trio called Nite Bjuti featuring Vocalist Candice Hoyes, and Sound Chemist Val Jeanty. Mimi is a recipient of the Chamber Music America Performance Plus Award 2021.
