The Jazz Voyager
Nothing like overlooking the City by the Bay as the Jazz Voyager scuttles off to the West Coast for a little jazz at Club Deluxe in the Haight. From the outside, this Haight Street spot looks more like a trashy lounge than a stellar jazz bar situated at 1511 Haight Street (at Clayton), San Francisco, CA 94117. Bringing in local talent event night of the week including live jazz, blues, swing, soul and comedy, serving up wood-fired pizza and slinging solid cocktails, this intimate space is great for dates, but don’t tell too many people: locals like to keep this place on the low.
This swanky retro lounge has bar stools, cushy booths and table seatings where one can sip drinks or dance. Tuesdays call for vintage attire to join the “Church of Frank Sinatra” for a special swing and big band cocktail party. Opens daily at 4:00 pm – 2:00 am, Monday thru Friday and 2:00pm – 2:00am Saturday and Sunday. For more information the number is 415-552-6949 or 415-552-1555. #wannabewhereyouare #jazz #voyager #music

The Jazz Voyager
Heading back across the pond to New York City, the Jazz Voyager is coming into the city downtown to Greenwich Village to Smalls Jazz Club at 183 W 10th St, New York, NY 10014. A staple on the jazz scene since 1994, it was founded by Mitchell Borden, a former Navy submariner, registered nurse, philosopher & jazz violinist. His initiative was to create an environment that was conducive to jazz music and culture. Under his generous care, a culture of vibrant and newly energized young musicians claimed Smalls as their home base and began to develop their individuality in the music.
This Thursday the Jazz Voyager will be catching an old favorite, Francisco Mela Group from 10:30pm to 1:00am. The cover is $20.00 for the entire evening, Sunday through Thursday with the exception of select shows, so please speak with the doorman.
