The Jazz Voyager
The Jazz Voyager is off to the Queen City to visit Creaux at 1901 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202. This stylish, New Orleans–inspired outpost features craft cocktails, Cajun-Creole dishes, and live music. Serving up feeling good and enjoying the moment atmosphere, the founders brought the fun, bold culture of Southern Louisiana.
Jazz, blues, and funk fill the air on Friday and Saturday nights depending on the week’s schedule. The venue is decorated with portraits of musicians such as Aretha Franklin, Tom Petty, Billie Holiday, B.B. King and Prince.
This Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 this voyager is checking out the Ethos Jazz Quintet. The club is closed Sunday through Tuesday, 4:00 ~ Midnight on Wednesday and Thursday, and 2:30 am on Friday and Saturday. For more information 513-208-4466

The Jazz Voyager
The Jazz Voyager is flying the friendly skies to the West Coast to the Bay area wherein resides the 7 Mile House is located at 2800 Bayshore Boulevard, Brisbane, California 94005. It’s one of the only venues where you can catch both live jazz for free and the big game.
This dog-friendly hot spot traces its history all the way back to 1853. Their menu offers a unique and delicious mix of Italian, American, and Filipino fare. Don’t know whether I’ll take advantage of the brunch or dinner but leaning toward brunch so this voyager can enjoy the jazz.
Drummer Vince’ Lateano’s Dog House Jazz Jam from 5~8pm, and hopefully, some of the city’s best players will come out and jam. Reservations are highly recommended for the session and can be made by calling 415-467-2343.

The Jazz Voyager
The next destination for the Jazz Voyager is the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania for a stop-off at The Bookstore Speakeasy. Located at 336 Adams Street, Bethlehem 18015, this cozy re-creation of a Jazz Age nightspot offers a modern American cuisine designed with cocktails that complement each dish and features a seasonal menu rotation, sourcing locally when possible.
Opens at 5:00 pm and closes between 11:00 pm, 12:00 am and 1:00 am into the weekend. Closed Sunday and Monday. This week the voyager is taking in a live jazz performance of the Hot Club Philly. For reservations and more information, the number is 610-867-1100.

The Jazz Voyager
The Jazz Voyager is heading off to the sea islands state where the Civil War started to the corner of The Village at Wexford where the Jazz Corner is located at 1000 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928. The Hilton Head landmark is celebrating twenty years of offering superb jazz music and gourmet food in a chic yet charming venue amid the natural beauty of the low country.
The venue is the dream of the late jazz musician and historian, Bob Masteller, and he established the 99-seat space is an ideal setting to enjoy an evening of vocalist Tierney Sutton and trumpeter/vocalist Joe Gransden along with a bit of Southern-inspired cuisine. The Jazz Voyager
The next stop-off for this Jazz Voyager remaining on the other side of the Atlantic is a compact jazz club, established in 1992, with regular evening concerts by international musicians simply called A-Trane. Established in 1992 at Bleibtreustraße 1, 10625 Berlin, Germany, this Charlottenburg venue opens at 8:00 pm daily and closes at 1:00 am, seven days a week.
Named after the subway train that brought jazz musicians to downtown Manhattan and after saxophonist John Coltrane. It is also a play on words for the Strayhorn composition Take The “A” Train made famous by Duke Ellington, reputed to bring you up to Sugar Hill in Harlem.
There is food served here, however, there is a cafe just thirty meters away that serves up traditional German cuisine as well as international dishes of fish, meat and vegetarian. Reservations are highly recommended and may be made in conjunction with music seating but must be made in advance as meals are served prior to the performance at A-Trane. This trip will get me a seat or dinner and music by the Dominic Miller Band giving the crowd jazz and more at 9:00 pm.
