LEONIEKE SCHEUBLE QUARTET

Leonieke Scheuble Organ Quartet featuring Bill Crow.

Leonieke Scheuble is a gifted pianist and jazz organist who has a rare talent for blues and jazz improvisation at an unusually young age. She started to play piano after being inspired by “Ray,” a movie based on the life of Ray Charles. Without any prior musical training, she began to spend great lengths of time at the piano creating pieces that were rhythmically interesting and compositionally balanced. She was 5 or 6.

At age 7, Leonieke recorded a handful of pieces including two of her own compositions. This was brought to the attention of Steve Ash, a highly respected Jazz pianist, who then agreed to take her on as a student. She has been with him ever since.

Recent years Leonieke has been a featured artist at several high profile Jazz Festivals and she can been seen performing regularly at many of New York and New Jersey’s finest Jazz venues.

MIKE LEDONNE GROOVER QUARTET

Mike LeDonne’s Groover Quartet featuring Eric Alexander, Peter Bernstein & Kenny Washington.

We’re quite proud of our newest Jazz Forum addition – a Hammond organ – and even more proud to debut it with this outstanding quintet of top-notch musicians, led by keyboard great Mike LeDonne.

For many years, LeDonne has been at the B-3 to lead The Groover Quartet, a wildly popular weekly “grits and gravy” jazz gig at Smoke in Manhattan, and he’s bringing that sound, plus an additional horn, to Tarrytown. Don’t miss it!
