Requisites
Carmen for Cool Ones is a 1958 album by jazz singer Carmen McRae, arranged by cellist Fred Katz. The studio sessions were recorded in Los Angeles, California on December 5, 16, 1957 and released in 1958 on the Decca Records label. Discovered and signed to the label by Decca’s A&R head Milt Gabler to fill the void and niche Ella Fitzgerald created, this was her sixth album for the label.

- “The people that’s close – I want them to be happy. Now I’ve got everything covered.”

Requisites
Griff & Lock is an album by saxophonists Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis and Johnny Griffin recorded in 1960 and released on the Jazzland label. The original sessions were produced by Orrin Keepnews and were recorded at Plaza Sound Studios, New York City on November 4 & 10, 1960. The engineer was Ray Fowler and the cover designs were by Ken Deardoff and Donald Silverstein.
The three studio albums recorded for Jazzland by the aptly named Tough Tenors, Johnny Griffin and Eddie ‘Lockjaw’ Davis, and their calorific Junior Mance-Larry Gales-Ben Riley rhythm section epitomize what this incendiary group was about ~ Swinging! They are at the height of their game together.

Three Wishes
The Baroness inquired of Flip Stewart what he would wish for if he had three wishes and he replied:
- “A good gig, playing with cats I can really stretch out with ~ who cook!”
- “I have a daughter. I wish I could get he set up so things’d be nice for her when she gets ready to go to college. She’s ten and she plays the piano.”
- “I want to get myself straightened out.”
