GEOFFREY KEEZER & GILLIAN MARGOT
The Grammy-winning pianist Geoffrey Keezer is celebrated internationally for his highly regarded discography, unique compositions, and acclaimed performances in a variety of configurations. Keezer has been a major figure in NYC’s jazz piano scene since 1989, when he became the last pianist with the legendary Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers.
Gillian Margot is a singer with a rare gift that makes people sit up and listen. She possesses an exquisite voice, a disarmingly wide range and a style that eschews jazz singer clichés in favor of an original, interpretive delivery grounded in a song’s lyrical and emotional content. A student of a generation of jazz legends including Oscar Peterson, Freddy Cole, Carol Welsman and Norman Simmons, she has since been invited to perform in major venues worldwide with top-tier talent, including rock icon Sting, jazz trumpeters Chris Botti and Jeremy Pelt, pianist Robert Glasper, famed soprano Kathleen Battle, conductors Wayne Marshall (London Philharmonic) and Jukka-Pekka Saraste (Toronto Symphony Orchestra).

EUGENIE JONES
CD Release Concert!
The Seattle-based singer-songwriter and legacy activist, Eugenie Jones, made a splash debut in 2013 with her first album, Black Lace, Blue Tears. Since then, she has collaborated with renowned artists such as bassist Reggie Workman and drummer-percussionist Bobby Sanabria and has been celebrated for her own work as a remarkable, versatile artist and an original songwriter.
Recorded live in Seattle and NYC (produced by bassist Lonnie Plaxico), the 13 tracks from the newly-released Eugenie (her sixth album to date) include six originals as well as fresh interpretations of jazz standards and blues, soul, gospel and Latin jazz-inspired songs. With sixteen total participating musicians from the two sessions, Jones’ vocals shine through as warm and sensual: she’s an evocative musical storyteller with well-honed phrasing and a deep emotional connection to her lyrics. Her voice shines in riveting ballads of love, betrayal and resilience.

The Jazz Voyager
So the Jazz Voyager is going international and thankfully is in a city with an international airport. Georgia to Argentina is 5,015 miles and ten hours later I will be landing at Ministro Pistarini International Airport. Situated in Ezeiza about 20 miles from the city center, a forty minute cab ride will take me to the exclusive Recoleta neighborhood. The cool thing is I’ll be staying at the Meliá Recoleta Plaza Hotel and inside is the club, Jazz Voyeur. So it will be an elevator ride downstairs to hear some great music.
After speniding the day exploring the city on tap for listening is vocalist and trumpeter Mike Sinagra, joined by Manuel Fraga on piano and vocals, Pablo Motta on double bass and drummer Oscar Giunta. They’ll be paying tribute to the Rat Pack, recreating the eternal classics and the wide repertoire of Frank Sinatra, and his hit songs by Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Ray Charles, Charles Aznavour, Neil Diamond, Joe Cocker, Carlos Gardel.
Cover: $13,000 ARS ($12.22) ~ $15,000 ARS ($14.10)
