Requisites

Payton’s Place is a jazz album recorded at Avator Studios and was released on Polygram Records on June 9, 1998 by trumpet player Nicholas Payton  Producer Nicholas Payton. The executive producer on the session was Richard Seidel, it was mixed and mastered by James Nichols at BMG Studios in New York. The production coordinator and assistant were Camille Tominaro and Samantha Black, respectively. The photographs were taken by Barron Claiborne with recording session photographs by Jimy Katz and the art direction & design by Giulio Tururro.

The Jazz Voyager

The Jazz Voyager is off to the land of racing where local jazz is the highlight of the Chatterbox Jazz Club. This intimate bar serving drinks & a limited menu amid a quirky decor resides at 435 Massachusetts Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204. Opened in 1982 by David Andrichik, this blue-collar spot is a true dive bar with jazz which is part of its charm, having earned its reputation best dive jazz bar in the city.

This trip is going to take the Jazz Voyager into this dive bar on Saturday to hear the Wade Baker Quartet. The cover charge is $8.00 with card/$7.00 cash. Doors open at 4:00pm but the music doesn’t start until 10:30pm for a late night hit that goes until 1:30am. Reservations are not required but if one requires more information, call 317-636-0584. With folks like Wynton Marsalis and Mick Jagger having hung out here, clearly this is one stop worth making.
