Requisites

Together is a 1961 album by vocalist Joe Williams and trumpeter Harry “Sweets” Edison which was originally released on the Roulette label. The session was recorded on January 31st and February 1st & 2nd in Los Angeles, California and produced by Teddy Reig.

The Jazz Voyager

The Jazz Voyager is road tripping to the state south of Kentucky to check out a Tennessee club called Rudy’s Jazz Room. What is known as a cozy, mellow lounge featuring jazz musicians, classic cocktails & traditional Cajun/Creole dishes, it resides at 809 Gleaves Street, Nashville, TN 37203.

Stephanie Adlington will be the vocalist on tap as Saturday ushers The Siren of the South to the stage for this jazz voyager’s visit to the capital of both the state and country music. Jazz is no stranger to the city but clearly overshadowed, however, we shall witness how she handles originals and covers the Great American Songbook. Cover at the door is $15.00 and the show begins at 8:00pm

This moderately priced venue is open Monday through Wednesday from 5:00pm – Midnight, Thursday – 1:00am, Friday and Saturday – 2:00am and Sunday 11:00am – 12:30am. For more information the number is 615-988-2458.

Lenox And Seventh: The Definitive Black and Blue Sessions is a 1985 album led by Alvin Queen and Dr. Lonnie Smith. The sessions were recorded in a studio in Paris, France on May 28 1985. The recording engineer was Dominique Samarcq, with liner notes provided by Alain Antonietto.

The Jazz Voyager

119 S. 7th Street, Louisville, KY 40202 is the next jump off point for The Jazz Voyager to find out just why Jimmy Can’t Dance. The name is as intriguing as is the intimate, subterranean jazz club with brick walls, classic cocktails and a speakeasy vibe that is located below Another Place Sandwich Shop.

Always seeking out the next interesting collaboration from the millennial music masters will reveal is what jazz and hip hop will bring to the stage as this jazz voyager will be listening to Gengis Don & The Empire on Saturday night.

Closed on Monday and Tuesday, open Sunday from 11am to 3pm with normal hours of 6pm to 4am Wednesday through Saturday. No cover on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, $10 on Friday and Saturday. More information can be obtained by calling 502-589-4115.
