The Jazz Voyager
The Buckeye State is the next layover for the Jazz Voyager as he heads to Schwartz’s Point Jazz & Acoustic Club located at 1901 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. The passion of owner Ed Moss, the club operated under his guidance from 2008 until a few months before his passing. This was his home to play the music he composed and where his big band, the Society Jazz Orchestra, could have somewhere to perform.
It opened in speakeasy style with patrons having to know someone in order to be invited to partake of the music and the camaraderie among jazz musicians and enthusiasts. Eventually with popularity comes responsibility and he had to get a liquor license and go legit. His daughter Zarleen took over operations with the zeal of the public and has been presenting top-flight jazz ever since.
The interior of this 1870 flat-iron building is decorated with Oriental carpets lining the walls of this intimate locale featuring a full bar & jazz performances. The cuisine is lauded to offer a healthy, nourishing and delicious fare with gluten free and vegetarian options. This week this Jazz Voyager is anticipating the sounds of the Eric Lechliter Trio from 8:00 pm – Midnight. Because of the intimacy of the space, reservations are highly recommended to reserve a table for two or a party atnd one can do so by calling 513-208-4466. Looking forward to see how far this young man has progressed.
